Job Opening: Program Coordinator    Location: Vientiane Capital, with travel to project sites

Reports To: Director

 

Organization: Gender Development Association, GDA, is a leading Gender Rights Non-Profit Association, working throughout Lao PDR since 1991. GDA works to empower women and men to achieve gender equity through joint action, knowledge sharing and ending gender based violence and discrimination. Our team is based in Vientiane Capital, and works in rural communities throughout Laos, as well as with our network of international partners.

 

Job Purpose: The Program Coordinator manages the effective and timely delivery of GDA’s programs and activities.  This will be done by using a project management approach; ongoing collaboration with donors, partners and stakeholders; supervising project staff and focusing on project outcomes and sustainability.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Director to design, develop and execute GDAs programs and activities
  • Ensure project activities are aligned with the aims of the wider program; monitor and evaluate project activities
  • Collaborate with the Lao Women’s Union, Lao-NCAW, Sub-CAW and other government partners regarding the development of new projects and programs to respond to the needs of women and girls in Lao PDR
  • Support the Project Officers and Volunteer in Capacity Development
  • Ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of projects and donor compliancy
  • Prepare project reports as required by donors and Director
  • Attend meetings and events as required
  • Liaise with Government Line Ministries, INGO, NPA and other program counterparts

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • University Degree in relevant field. Masters Degree Preferred
  • Minimum 3 Years of Progressive Experience in similar role
  • Previous Experience in INGO or NPA, with staff supervision experience
  • Proven understanding of gender context in Lao PDR
  • Strong networking and leadership abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of current legislation
  • Fluent in English, written and oral – Required
  • Knowledge of local dialect considered an asset. (Hmong or Khmu)
