The organization’s background

Gender Development Association (GDA) is a leading Gender Rights Non-Profit Association, working throughout Lao PDR since 1991. GDA works to empower women, gender diversity, and disabled people to achieve gender equity through joint action, knowledge sharing, and ending gender-based violence and discrimination.

Job Purpose

The Program Coordinator manages effectively and timely the delivery of all Gender Development Association’s Programs to meet the projects’ outcomes and sustainability. She or he will be responsible for overseeing all the projects and work closely with the management team. This will be done by using a project management approach; ongoing collaboration with donors, partners and stakeholders; supervising project staff and focusing on funds raising.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Work with the GDA Director to design, develop and execute the Association’s Strategic Plans, Programs and Projects.
  • Support GDA organizational strengthening, funds raising and service units.
  • Ensure effective implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects to comply with the GDA policy and donor requirements.
  • Support the GDA Human Resource Development and Performance Review.
  • Collaborate with the government counterparts regarding the development of new projects to respond to the needs of women and girls.
  • Attend meetings and events and share the outputs to build collaboration plans with network organisations.
  • Liaise with government agencies at all levels, INGO, NPAs and donors to extend the networking and implementation of the programs according to the Strategic plan.
  • Liaison on the contract management when required.
  • Enhance GDA communication and visibility.
Experience
  • Education and skills
    • A Master of Science on gender development study, community development, and/or related fields such as international law, public health, sustainable agriculture and
    • At least 3 years of experience in program/project management on the gender development, public health, sustainable agriculture development, laws and related fields.
    • Proven experience in analysis of situations, writing proposal, negotiation with different actors such counterparts, donors.
    • Familiarity with various donors’ development cooperation projects and procedures
    • Fluency in Lao and English, written and oral – Required would be an asset.
