Promoting Gender Equality in Climate Resilience
Project overall objective:
This project is to Promote Gender Equality in Climate Resilience which aims to empower rural women within the Feuang District (Laos) through sustainable agricultural practices which are resilient and adaptable to climate change.
Project activity:
- Conduct the baseline survey for community need assessment and project planning.
- Project presentation/consultation meeting with implementing partners
- Training of trainers on GCVCA tools, agricultural practices, and impacts of climate change to government partners and village volunteers
- Implementing the GCVCA tool at the village level
- Implement a consultation workshop at the village level to share the result of the GCVCA tool to develop and finalize the village action plan
- Conducting the dissemination and planning workshop at the district office to share the result of the GCVCA and finalize the village action plan
- Provide technical training on agricultural practices and the impacts of climate change and solar energy
- Supporting smallholder farmer group for implementation according to the village action plans (1 day per village per lesson)
- Seed funds to support village action plan
- Build networking through exchanging workshops or field visits between farmer groups
- Monitoring support for the village action plan
- Provide training of trainers on gender equality and violence against women for villagers to government partners and village volunteers
- Conducting Awareness training sessions on gender equality and violence against women for villagers
- Organizing campaign events to promote gender equality at the village level
